Yes, in case you were wondering, this is the same DougS as you'll find on LiveJournal and assorted other LJ-codebase sites.
It seems likely that I'll be using this journal for my creative output -- stories, poems, songs, things of that nature -- and keeping my semi-regular journalling activity elsewhere where you're used to seeing it. Of course that may change over time.
So this is a placeholder post for comments of welcome, comments of the form "Hi, this is exampleusername but you probably know me on LJ as thisothername, I'm the person who had that long conversation with you in the bar at Eastercon about gluten-free truffles".
